No more cakes and Jerusalem
The Women's Institute is changing and it’s no longer about cakes and Jerusalem.
I am now following in the steps of 1000s of women across the UK and beyond. I have taken the leap into joining the Women’s Institute, full on and taken on a Vice President role.
I know what you are thinking, “retired women singing Jerusalem and making cakes”. Well hang on tight, the new era Women’s Institute has arrived to Chester City Centre and I am on a mission along with other members to get the WI into the 21st Century.
It’s no longer about jam, cakes or even Jerusalem. The WI is changing and now attracting young professional women who want to get together outside work and have fun.
The organisation is going from strength to strength with new branches opening every month, attracting younger women.
Our group attracts young professional women and there is a new vibrancy about the more recently formed group. In a roundabout way our members are rebelling against a stereotype with the events we run and the members we are attracting. Check out Our Committee
